On Saturday, September 28, 2013, hundreds of Latin music lovers will “feel the music” at the Latino Festival organized by Durham Parks and Recreation. The event is free and open to the public.

The event is free and will be held at Rock Quarry Park (701 Stadium Dr.) from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. The rain location is Holton Career and Resource Center on 401 N. Driver St.

The purpose of this festival is to share Hispanic traditions and folklore with Durham residents. The festival is also an observation of National Hispanic Heritage month, a celebration of the rich history of Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.

Participants will dance to live music, taste authentic foods, shop the marketplace for arts and crafts, and learn about the many health, education and service resources available in Durham. Children can participate in hands-on activities and create traditional Latin crafts as well as watch a soccer tournament.

There will also be special performances by West End Mambo, Orquestra GarDel, Realeza De La Sierra, Flamenco Vivo, and Latin Fusion and more!
