The number of flu deaths continues to rise, young children, older people, and those with health conditions are most at risk. According to the CDC, ten people died in the past week bringing the total number of deaths to thirty-two. Two of those deaths involved children between the ages of five and seventeen, while the other deaths attributed to flu were age sixty-five or older.

Here are four things the CDC says can keep you from getting the flu:

Get a flu shot

Try to avoid close contact with sick people

Wash your hands often with soap and water

Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. That’s how germs spread.
